Supported cameras

What actually recovers today, what's preview-only, and what's blocked on a sample file. Updated as formats get added — this page reflects the engine as it actually is, not a roadmap promise.

Send a donor clip

Adding support for a new camera means knowing exactly what a normal, correctly-finished recording from it looks like — the codec parameters a broken file loses are still sitting in a working one. That's a donor clip: a short, ordinary recording, nothing dramatic.

What helps: a 10–30 second clip from the camera/format you want supported, recorded and stopped normally (not one that already failed). If you also have the broken file that started this, send that too, but the working clip is what actually unblocks the work.

One thing worth being upfront about: the site itself never uploads your footage — the recovery runs entirely in your browser. A donor clip is different and exists outside that path on purpose; it's a small sample you choose to send me directly, by email, only when you want a camera added. brian@footage.repair — happy to send back a Drive/WeTransfer link if the file's large.

If support gets added from your clip, you're credited on this page next to it (or listed anonymously, whichever you'd rather) — that's the only ask in return.
